From 'Contra-Compositie' (a composition of contrasts?) Kayn's oeuvre directs us to the current work, 'De-Compositie', its title suggesting an unravelling or unspooling: a disentanglement. Further evidence of the process of recall, reexamination and recontextualisation the composer applied to his sonic material.

For which other creators in any medium was such a process so richly productive? Wherever was an untempered, inward-looking resolve so fruitful and diverse in its results? The kaleidoscopic deconstruction we witness here is yet another high point in the mostly unheard expanses of Kayn's later work. With its release, another creative seam is exposed for exploration. From decomposition, fertile growth can once again take place.
